Following Trump’s defeat in the 2020 election, President Donald Trump’s henchmen gathered in the capitals of several states that Trump had lost and created fake certificates alleging that the signatories were Electoral College electors casting their votes for Trump. The phony certificates were sent to the National Archives declaring that Trump had won. The fake certificates were created by Trump allies in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and New Mexico, in a flagrant attempt to subvert the the legitimate vote of the Electoral College and keep Trump illegally in power.

Some of the fake certificates with pro-Trump electors were sent to the National Archives by top officials representing the Republican Party in each state, according to documents obtained by the media.

Sixteen (16) Georgia Republicans were among the phony electors making a mockery of one of America’s most revered institutions: the peaceful transfer of power from one president to another. The 16 gathered in Atlanta on December 14, 2020 and falsely certified that Donald Trump had won the state’s electoral votes, then sent those fake documents to Congress.

State Senator Bert Jones was among the 16 attempting to perpetrate this fraud. Jones is a dedicated lap dog of Donald Trump. He is running for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia as Trump’s hand-picked candidate–in the company of other

Georgia candidates whose main credential for office is that he has Trump’s endorsement: David Perdue for governor; Herschel Walker for U.S. Senate; and Jody Hice for Secretary of State.

Far from being content with his Electoral College fraud, in January 2021 Jones brought a letter signed by several of his fellow Republican State Senators to a dinner with Mike Pence in DC urging the Vice President to delay certification of the Presidential election by 12 days to “allow for further investigation of fraud, irregularities, and misconduct in Georgia’s election.” This, in spite of the fact that Georgia’s 2020 elections had been subjected to three post-elections audits that found no significant irregularities. Republican officials including Governor Kemp, Secretary of State Raffensperger, and state and local election officials concurred that GA elections were fair and honest.

The Republican campaign in GA to elect Trump’s rabid partisans is part of the GOP effort to place his supporters in key election posts across the country. The ultimate goal is clear: to allow Trumpists to steal the 2024 presidential election. To accomplish in 2024 what they almost accomplished in 2020.

Besides governor and lieutenant governor, the offices of Secretary of State and Attorney General are critical to the Republican strategy. Georgia has well qualified candidates running for each in this year’s elections. Keeping them out of Republican hands will help tremendously to thwart the Republican steal in 2024.
