McConnell’s Condemnation of Trump Reveals the Depths of His Moral Flaws

Headline of the week:

Mitch McConnell: Withdrawing from Syria is a grave mistake

  • Withdrawing U.S. forces from Syria is a grave strategic mistake. It will leave the American people and homeland less safe, embolden our enemies, and weaken important alliances.
  • The combination of a U.S. pullback and the escalating Turkish-Kurdish hostilities is creating a strategic nightmare for our country.
  • Even if the five-day cease-fire announced Thursday holds, events of the past week have set back the United States’ campaign against the Islamic State and other terrorists.
  • Unless halted, our retreat will invite the brutal Assad regime in Syria and its Iranian backers to expand their influence. And we are ignoring Russia’s efforts to leverage its increasingly dominant position in Syria to amass power and influence throughout the Middle East and beyond.
IndieDems Comment:

The question for Senator McConnell and all Republicans who still support Donald Trump: how in God’s name can you so accurately and eloquently describe the disaster of Trump ‘s Syrian debacle—and still want not only to keep this pathetic cretin in the White House for now but want to give him four more years to wreak his havoc? Your display of intelligence, Senator, highlights, heightens, and places in bold relief your gross immorality in wanting to keep Trump in office, knowing full well he will not be deterred by your Op-Ed articles in the Washington Post.

You have an alternative readily at hand, Senator. Join the Democrats in having the House impeach this monster and the Senate remove him from office.

The real litmus test for you, Senator McConnell, Is this: do you support Trump’s re-election? You have no excuse whatsoever for doing so. If you do, you are giving your unmistakeable stamp of approval to everything Trump has done and will do. And your rap-on-the-knuckle criticisms will make you the sound of tingling brass.
